Hi. My name is Joakim Snygg, I live in Stockholm, in Sweden. I’m 42 years old, (I was born at a very early age though). For the time being I’m studying for a masters in Computer & Systems Sciences. In 2008 I will write my thesis about Software evolution and maintenance. Previously I have worked with everything from taking care of people with intellectual and mental handicaps to being a PC-technician. I’m single but have a wonderful son who is fifteen years old. I was initiated June 12 2007 into the Catholic Church.

So what do I write about? - Spiritual pondering and other thoughts from a Catholic convert. Thoughts about how it is to live in secular Scandinavia and how come I became Catholic. Also posts about the early modernists, especially Gerard Manley Hopkins life and writings, thoughts on my studies in computer and systems sciences, etcetera.

Over the years I have published a few web pages, both on my own and for a non-profit organization I used to be involved in. Here are a few links to the ones that I still keep updated (or at least try to keep updated).I have a blog at my University. I kind of like this one better, but at least for now, I find it interesting to have a blog In that context. I’ll see how it evolves. One of my greatest interest is the poet Gerard Manley Hopkins. I have also made a page about him, his prosody and a few episodes from his life. You can read it here.

One of my other great interests (I have quite a few) is cooking. I like traditional Swedish food, but lately I picked up an interest for traditional Italian cuisine, perhaps cuisines is a better term, since there are quite a difference between for example Lombardia and Calabria. I guess it can seem a bit odd since I never been to Italy myself, but there it is. I studied Knowledge Management some time ago and as an course assignment we should construct a webpage outlining some dimension of KM. I choose to outline a corporate memory and used pasta dishes as an example. Here is my webpage for my course assignment It contains some nice recipes.
